I have been busy organizing my RV – with only three kitchen drawers, space is at a premium to fit everything I need to. Here are two great organizing things I picked up to ease the storage woes for my kitchen.
These dish holders are amazing. They work with both paper plates and bowls (which I need to use while boondocking to conserve water) or with dishes such as melamine or Corelle (which is what we use when staying at RV parks). They have no-slip grips on the bottom, so they don’t slide around in the locker either.
When using corelle or melamine, I flip the bowls upside down to be more secure in the holder.
- Plates stay in place while traveling and reduces rattling
If you have enough space where you can add a second “level”, these expandable shelves will increase the amount of storage you can put in these cabinets by adding an extra shelf.
- Elegant Perforated Design, and Stackable design w/ 2 tier shelf
Or you can add these baskets underneath a shelf, which would be perfect also for plates, napkins, etc.
While I personally love this blue, they also come in white, black, bronze and charcoal gray.

For the cutlery, I hated giving up so much drawer space to a standard Rubbermaid style cutlery tray. With those three drawers, I wanted that space back. And I came across this cutlery holder that takes up about 1/4 to 1/3 of the space that standard cutlery does, by using a neat stacking design.
Here it is in action – plastic cutlery in it because the next trip is boondocking style, but it is easy to swap these out and pop them into a ziploc to replace with regular silverware when we are at a park and don’t need to be super conscious about water usage. Now I have a ton more room to utilize for space.
- Unique design creates more space in your drawer
They also offer a variation for this one, with added cubby spaces for serving spoons, spatulas, etc.

And there is also a stacking version specifically for knives, so you can store them safely while also taking up minimal space.
- Safe, organized storage for up to 9 knives. Non-slip feet.
If you are looking for something that takes up less width for dinner plates, these upright holders are similar to magazine holders but designed specifically for plates in the RV.
They come in dinner plate size:

This is a great caddy organizer for plates, cups, bowls, cutlery, napkins and even straws, or you can swap out some of the sections for things like condiments.
It comes in white, black and silver and also with or without the handles on the side.
You can leave it on the table or counter for easy access while stationary, and it is also easy to grab and take outside to the picnic table in a campsite.
