Keeping Your Toothbrush Clean in a Small RV

October 23, 2016 by RV Chick Leave a Comment

With many of the smaller ultralight RVs that are so popular on the market these days, many have no cabinet space in the bathroom of the RV.  Which means figuring out what to do with things you might not want sitting out on the bathroom sink – like a toothbrush!

There are some travel style toothbrush holders, but it still doesn’t solve the problem of what to do with it after you use it.

Camco, which makes all kinds of awesome things for RV’ers has a solution.  It is a toothbrush holder that secures to the wall.  While there have been plenty of similar styles over the year, this one has a great added feature – it has a top that can come over and close.

It closes all the way, not just partially as shown in the photo.

Why is this so awesome?  It means you don’t have to worry about getting shampoo or body wash on your toothbrush if your RV bathroom is a wet bath style.  And you don’t have to worry about discovering it on the bathroom floor after traveling for a day, because it got knocked out of the other style of toothbrush holders.  Of course, it also means you need to remember to close it too!

And best of all, it is cheaper than the ones you find at Ikea or places like Walgreens.

I do wish it came it different colors, but if you have more than two people in your RV, you can always add a sticker or use a sharpie to write on it.

Now, for something a bit more on the exotic side, might I present this one:

Yes, that is really a toothpaste dispenser.  This has both the toothbrush holder but also an automatic toothpaste dispenser, which means your toothpaste is one less thing you need to find a home for in your RV.   It also has less waste of your toothpaste since it uses vacuum technology.  And it is under $10 too.

But it might be too fancy for your tastes – is an automatic toothpaste dispenser something you really need when you are RV living?  Okay, yes, and only partly because I don’t have to worry about how else to keep my toothpaste conveniently located in the bathroom without a cupboard!
