Cutting boards are surprisingly heavy and they can be very awkward to wash in the smaller RV sinks. Rather than spending the money on a larger and heavy thick plastic or wood cutting board, pick up some of the flexible plastic cutting boards from the dollar store instead.
You can usually pick up a pack of 3 or 4 cutting boards, and they are usually color coded for different types of cutting, such as green for vegetables, red for beef and yellow for chicken.
Because they are flexible, it also make it easy to flex when trying to move chopped food from the cutting board into bowls, bags, pots or skillets.
They take up next to no space in the RV and they are so much easier to wash since they are flexible. And even if they only last a season or two, the cost is so low that replacing the set for another dollar usually isn’t considered a huge expense.
If you can’t find them at the dollar store, here are the best deals on Amazon.
These are thicker cutting boards and come in a set of 5.
And if you prefer even lighter weight, there are these ones in a set of three colored mats or two clear ones.
- FLEXIBLE - can be bent or funneled to help unload chopped ingredients...
- EASY to store and easy to use.
