When I was recently at the dollar store, I happened to notice some funky wallets with a pattern to match the RV decor. And while thinking uses for it, I realized that this would be a perfect way to be able to keep a wallet handy without showing everyone where I keep my wallet and purse in the RV.
There are always reasons you need to have a wallet and cash accessible while in the RV. Maybe you need to pay a campground attendant that visits each site. Maybe someone in the next campsite is selling cookies or chocolates for a group or charity.
Now, like most people, I hide my wallet with my cash and credit cards in the RV… but what use is that hiding spot if I end up having to show people where that is? This is where a backup wallet for the RV comes in hand.
What I will keep inside:
- Photocopy of my ID
- Cash in small bills – depending on where I am, anywhere from $15-50
- Copies of any camping cards I have (discount cards, membership cards)
- Change for vending machines and washing/shower facilities
This wallet I will keep in a drawer by the door, so I can grab it easily without showing the entire campground where my real wallet is.
You can use a real wallet or a small zip style bag. And dollar stores always have something suitable.
