Space is always of the essence when it comes to your RV. Whether you have a tiny trailer and are looking for some extra space, or you are living full time in your RV and need the extra space for all your worldly possessions, here are some great items that come in collapsible versions for extra space saving!
I have tried to include both a “best choice” option – usually silicone and BPA free – as well as a budget option for those that are looking for solutions but need to save those pennies.
Kitchen Bowls, Measuring Cups, Etc.
Kitchen bowls tend to take up quite a bit of space in an RV, especially when you need them for both cooking and serving. These bowls come in a set of three (1-1/2 cups, 3 cup and 5 cup sizes) and come with lids for any leftovers, so they are multipurpose.
And best part, these are also the budget option!
- SET INCLUDES: Three collapsible bowls with lids with three sizes 1½...
If you do any cooking on your RV, measuring cups are again those items that tend to take up a lot of room. While the stacking ones can be convenient, sometimes the drawer you want to stash them in the RV isn’t deep enough to accommodate the stack.
This set has collapsible measuring cups and bonus measuring spoons (although the spoons are sadly not collapsible).
Kitchen colanders are always useful in an RV, whether draining pasta or rinsing off fruits and vegetables. They are also weirdly shaped and a pain to store if they don’t collapse.
I like these ones, because they are available in a variety of colors, including these great turquoise ones. They come in a set of two, but if you don’t need both, consider sharing the second one with a fellow RV’er.
- CONVENIENCE: Save space with our collapsible colander set. Buy now and...
Food Leftover Containers
I like to carry a handful of “tupperware” type containers for leftovers but those types of containers contribute to the messiest part of an RV kitchen, especially if you want a few different sizes.
These bins come with secure snap lids and collapse for storage. These ones come with 4 sizes and stack to store. They are also BPA free!
- VALUE SET - Set of 4 assorted stackable and collapsible silicone...
Coffee & Tea Time
If you make coffee in your RV while boondocking, you have probably used one of these – but now it is available as a collapsible version!
It can be used for both coffee (using No. 2 or No. 4 filters) and tea. It is silicone. Note: Other versions of this use the smaller No. 2 filter only, the one below can use both No. 2 AND No. 4).
- Over the Cup Coffee Dripper, Easy Brewing that's Great for the...
And yes, you can even get kettles in collapsible form! These are silicone with a stainless steel bottom.
If you frequent campgrounds or RV parks that have dishwashing facilities available, so you can save the water in your RV tanks, this collapsible dish tub is pretty convenient. It is kind of bulky, so you can store it in one of your outside storage bins if you don’t use it frequently.
- VERSATILE BASIN: The Collapsible Dish Tub is perfect for washing...
This one is a bit more pricey, but I find this one far less boring if I have to do dishes!
There is also a collapsible dish rack with an underside drain board as well, with grooves for dishes. This one is more bulky, but if you need one, this collapsible one is great.
- VERSATILE AND MULTIPURPOSE: The Collapsible Dish Tub is a versatile...
You can never have too many buckets on an RV! Unless you are using a bucket to store loose items, pick up a couple collapsible buckets that you can keep in your storage compartments.
I like this one because it is silicon and it has a sturdier stainless steel handle, so if I am lugging water, I don’t worry about a plastic handle breaking.
- Infusion Living Collapsible Bucket for flexibility in cleaning and...
For your budget option, this one has oxford cloth sides with a PVC coating, but it is much cheaper if you tend to lose or lend your buckets.
Lanterns (Yes, Really!)
First is the expensive and really nice option.
This one is solar powered collapsible lantern and it has a bonus powerbank in it. What does that mean? In addition to powering the light, it also can be charged with a USB and it can also change USB devices, such as your phone.
If you want to store a few extra lanterns, these collapsible ones are great to toss in a cupboard or in the outside storage compartments. These use 3 AA batteries each using LED lights. They can’t be used as a powerbank though.
- LONG BATTERY LIFE - Built-in battery gives up to 10 hours of torch...
Don’t forget your four legged friends! These pet bowls are collapsible, making it a cinch to stow away while on the move.
- PORTABLE & CONVENIENT: Collapsible dog bowl is 5.1 inches wide, 2.1...
If you take day hikes away from your RV with your dog, these best selling bowls can be folded and carried in a backpack, pocket, or Fido’s vest.
- HYDRATION ON-THE-GO: The Port-A-Bowl by Outward Hound is your go-to...
