Clip to Hold RV Refrigerator Doors Open While Stored

January 13, 2021 by RV Chick Leave a Comment

We have all heard stories of an RV fridge or freezer that was accidentally left closed over the winter, and the mess it leaves behind.  Even a fridge that is perfectly cleaned can end up with mold and mildew inside while left closed for even a few weeks when it is turned off.

I used to just place a sheet or towel over door to hold it open, but I would run into problems where the towels fell out, especially if it was moved during the winter and forgot to replace it, if someone bumped it, or if someone well-intentionally removed it and closed the fridge and freezer door.

There is a pretty inexpensive clip you can use on your RV door that will hold it open a couple of inches to prevent it from accidentally being closed.  It clips onto the door so you will never open up the RV in the spring to discover a gross smelling fridge again.

This set also comes with a cooler clip too, if you also travel with a cooler and want to keep the lid open.

When you are using your fridge in the RV, simply toss it in a drawer or you can put it on the shelf or in a pocket on the door so you don’t lose it for the next time you are turning off the fridge for storage.
