Celebrate Thanksgiving in Your RV With Turkey Slow Cooker Recipes

November 23, 2020 by RV Chick Leave a Comment

Unless you have a huge Class A, chances are that your oven is not large enough to hold a whole turkey, if your RV has one at all. But for those that are living full-time in an RV, sometimes you just really want to have turkey for Thanksgiving, especially with the pandemic meaning many Thanksgiving dinners aren’t happening this year. Or maybe you were taking Thanksgiving break to have your last camping trip of the year.

So, what are your options if you want Thanksgiving dinner in your RV?. Well, you can go and pick up a Thanksgiving meal from a local restaurant or a grocery store, but that’s not always convenient, especially if you don’t have a second vehicle.

What many don’t realize is you can actually cook a turkey dinner in your slow cooker. Because so many people have slow cookers in their RVs now, it’s a perfect solution so you can have your Thanksgiving turkey while enjoying life in your RV.

We have two turkey recipes, one using turkey thighs with traditional cranberry sauce as well as a fantastic Cranberry Orange Turkey recipe for turkey breasts.

Turkey not your thing?  You can try Cranberry Pork Chops instead, and still get your cranberry sauce on.

You can also make cranberry sauce in your slow cooker, it is easy to make this one the day before – or early the morning of – where you can simply reheat it before serving, or just take it straight from the fridge if you prefer chilled cranberry sauce.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving in your RV!
